mfha-450-675-compressed-400x600

Stella Whitman has inherited her mother’s country home. When she finds it in utter disrepair, her cousin suggests that she call Men for Hire in search of a handyman. When he arrives, she’s somewhat shocked to find that his deep brown eyes and rugged good looks are giving her some very inappropriate thoughts.

Despite his instant attraction to Stella, Ian Starling has convinced himself that they need to keep things strictly professional. He’s been burnt before and has vowed never again. It becomes increasingly more difficult as he gets to know her, though. Then one rainy night changes everything…

1.If you had a free day with no responsibilities and your only mission was to enjoy yourself, what would you do?

That's part of what I enjoy so much about working for Jennifer at Men For Hire. I don't always have to work. If I need a day off, then I can usually take it with no problem. Hmm.. My ultimate day off? I'd probably take in a football game and then put in some hours working on my furniture building. I don't get to do that nearly enough.

2.What impression do you make on people when they first meet you? How about after they’ve known you for a while?

I'm a little quiet, so I think most people assume I'm either shy or not bright enough to handle much beyond manual labor. When they get to know me, I'd like to think they'll realize there's more to me. I like books, science, art, and film. I can hold up my end of a conversation. I'm a decent person, I'd say. And there's not nearly enough of that in the world.

3.What’s your idea of a good marriage? Do you think that’ll happen in your life?

Been there, done that. Failed miserably. I'm going to take a pass on this question.

4.What are you most proud of about your life?

Life hasn't always been kind. I think making it to the other side of those trials is what I'm most proud of.
- What sort of trials? Earlier, you mentioned marriage.

That's probably the worst of it. I got married young. My ex decided after nearly ten years of marriage that she much preferred the me that didn't give a damn about money or bills or responsibility. It broke my heart.

- Are you still in love with her, then?

Talk about getting right to it. Christ. But to answer your question, no. I think I just held on out of sheer stubbornness. We hadn't been right in a long time. I just wish she hadn't been so bloody brutal about ending things.

5.What are you most ashamed of in your life?

You're really into me talking about my feelings, aren't you? This goes back to the divorce, not to beat a dead horse too much. My parents were together for decades. Still are. I hate that I failed at that.

6.If you could spend the day with someone you admire (living or dead or imaginary), who would you pick?

My grandfather. He died a few years back. I miss him terribly.

7.Do you think you’ve turned out the way your parents expected?

Not sure. They never really pushed me to be any one thing. They were of the 'follow your heart' school. I'd like to think that they're pleased. I get the 'We're proud of you' bit a lot, but I think parents are required to say that stuff.

8.What do you believe about God? What do you suppose God thinks of you?

I'm not entirely convinced there's anything up there. I'm one of those that wants empirical evidence and I'm not likely to get it at this stage.

9.Is there anything you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t done? What would happen if you did it?

That's a tough question. I'm my own man, so I basically do whatever I want to. I've got nothing.

10.What’s the worst thing that’s happened in your life? What did you learn from it?

When I was sixteen, I was in a car wreck and broke both of my legs. My mate had been drinking at the time but like a dumb ass, I got in the car. Had a couple surgeries, and months of recovery. Drunk driving is stupid. We could have died. Never drive drunk. Never ride with anyone who's been drinking. That's what I learned.

11.Tell me about your best friend.

Probably my brother, Thomas. He's a year older than I am. Most weekends you can find me hanging out with him. We're either building something or watching some sort of sports. He's a good guy.

12.What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done to someone? Why?

I really don't recall doing anything that terrible to anyone. I'm kind of a pacifist, not to sound like a total pussy.

13.What would you like it to say on your tombstone?

He lived before he died.

14.Describe your ideal mate.

She'd be beautiful, of course. Not just on the outside. The inside too. Smart, funny, motivated. Maybe someone who's the creative sort. Someone who could offset my seriousness.

15.What are you most afraid of?

Not finding anyone to settle down with. I want what my brother and his wife have. What my parents have. I'd love to find it. I'm being much more particular about it this go-round, though.

16.What’s the most important thing in your life? What do you value most?

My family. They're important to me.

17.What do you like best about yourself? Least?

My ability to adapt. The other side of that, though, is that I never have to truly make a decision. I can just sort of let things happen as they may and then deal with the fall out.

18.How do you feel about your life right now? What, if anything, would you like to change?

It's a good life, for the most part. A little bit lonely. I'd like to meet someone, but lately I've been working so much that it's been hard to even date. Maybe I should devote myself to that more.

19.Are you lying to yourself about something? What is it?

A number of things, probably. The bad thing about denial is that you never realize you're in it until you're out of it.

20.What trait do you most deplore in others?

Liars. I can't stand them. I prefer the honest truth, even if it's ugly.

Michelle Roth is a novelist from the Great White North (Toronto, ON). When she’s not disappearing into foreign lands, or making two perfect strangers that she invented fall in love, she’s probably curled up somewhere with a glass of wine and a good book.

In her spare time she is typically hanging out with her awesome boyfriend and their two equally awesome cats. She likes taking road trips to nowhere in particular, cooking elaborate meals then making other people do the dishes, and being nerdy on the internet. Her books are currently available on Amazon, Nook, Kobo, and any other place that sells absolutely filthy romance novels.

ONE NAUGHTY FANTASY by @RavennaTate #NewRelease @evernightpub

ONE NAUGHTY FANTASY

**This book features the same three characters

 that are in SNOWBOUND**

***Click HERE to purchase directly from
Evernight Publishing***

Nina Santangeles has decided to give her lovers, Cameron Easton and Alex Gable, their ultimate fantasy. Dressed in a red plaid skirt, cotton blouse, bobby socks, and saddle shoes, she surprises them during a presentation they’re giving for architecture and design students at a university lecture hall, causing quite a stir.

When her men take her back to their hotel suite with the intention of punishing her for the naughty behavior as part of their role play fantasy, how far will she let them go?

Careful....so hot it burns...LR

They each held one of her hands in the hallway. Alex barely closed and locked the door to their hotel suite behind them before he lunged for her, covering her mouth in a hot kiss that surprised her. Her men were always on fire for her, but this was different. Their reaction was off the charts hot, and she had to assume it was the role playing.

She raked her hands over his back and tight ass, moaning into his open mouth. Pushing her hips against him, she wasn’t surprised to find his erection rock-hard. Behind her, Cameron reached under her skirt and grabbed her ass, groaning. Alex’s mouth released hers, and he nipped at her neck.

Nina started to unzip her skirt, but Cameron stopped her. “No. Leave it on, but take off the panties.”

Alex let go of her long enough to allow Nina to remove her panties and step out of them. Cameron took them from her, and she glanced over her shoulder to watch him bring them to his nose. It was so damn sexy she couldn’t stop the moan.

Nina turned her attention back to Alex and removed his tie, then unbuttoned his shirt. She peeled it off to reveal broad shoulders and fine dark hairs dusting his muscled chest. She loved their bodies. Both men were so damn gorgeous she could never get enough of them. “You work out, Mr. Gable.”

“Yeah. I do.”

“We both do,” said Cameron.

She ran her teeth over Alex’s nipples as she reached for his pants, unfastening the button above the zipper.

Behind her, Cameron grabbed her ass again. “Oh Christ … Nina …”

“Tell me what you both want,” she said, lifting her gaze to Alex’s eyes.

Alex swallowed hard. “I want to fuck you. Fuck you fucking silly.”

Cameron reached around and grasped her breasts through the cotton top. “I want to fill each of your holes, baby, all night long.” He let go of her breasts and smacked her ass, hard. Nina moaned. “I want to spank you for being such a bad girl. You interrupted a very important presentation for us, you know.”

He smacked her ass cheeks again, and she nearly came. “I know I did.”

“Now we need to punish you for it, and we need to fuck you hard for it.”

She giggled, tossing her hair. “Oh, you can fuck me, but I’m not so sure about the spanking part.” She had to pretend to protest something, after all. That had been part of their fantasy, but it was very difficult to get into the role now that she was alone in a beautiful hotel suite with them.

Alex turned her around so fast she nearly fell. He enveloped her in a bear hug from behind that was more sweet than lustful. “You’re so fucking beautiful.”

Nina rubbed her ass against Alex’s erection, aching for his dick to fill her, as he nuzzled her neck. “I like you, too, Alex. I like both of you. Let’s get these clothes off you two and see what you have in your pants.”

“In a minute.” Alex nibbled at her neck and reached under her blouse to unhook her bra. Cameron helped him ease the straps off her shoulders under the fabric, and then Alex tossed the bra on the floor. He grasped her breasts, and Nina moaned loudly.

“Oh God, I love your tits.” Alex’s breath was warm in her ear, and the sensation of his hands on her breasts and his erection rubbing against her ass nearly brought her to orgasm.

Cameron shoved his hand under her skirt and rubbed her clit with his expert fingers, then pushed one inside her pussy. She was so damn wet they wouldn’t need lube. “I love wet pussies.”

Nina closed her eyes and absorbed the sensations of Alex kneading her breasts, his thumbs playing with her nipples, while Cameron finger-fucked her and rubbed her clit with his thumb. Her climax was so close it was ridiculous.

Beefcake: Then and Now

Burt Reynolds' notorious Cosmo Magazine centerfold from April, '72

It occurred to me recently that a good deal of my social media presence is NSFW. For example, there's an author I follow on Facebook who maintains a private page wherein, twice a day, 365 days a year, she posts pictures of nearly-naked men. And some of them skip the 'nearly'.

And Sunday is Peen Day.

I'm going to let your imagination take care of that one.

My Pinterest stream is loaded with masculine beauty. I figure it's an occupational hazard of being a romance writer. Some of the pictures are just pretty to look at, but some can be quite inspiring. I wrote a whole book - and potentially a series - because I needed to tell the story of the guy with the bird tattoo.

Eric Dane - source unknown

Also, I'm pretty sure this young man with the dark hair and tatts is Joey, younger brother of Ryan from King Stud. (Okay, yeah, he's not really Joey. His name is Atle Petterson, and he's from Norway's X-Games. Jump HERE to read more about him - but make sure your googletranslate is working, because the article is in Norwegian. But the pictures are pretty.)

Between authors posting photos to Facebook and Pinterest, and photographers like Michael Stokes sharing their work on Facebook and Twitter, I sometimes think that buffed young men could give cat pix a run for their money for internet popularity.

But has it always been this way?

I actually did a google search, looking for some scholarly paper that might explain why it seems we're having something of a heyday for photographing men. The closest I came (and I might not have looked that hard) was the Wikipedia definition of 'beefcake', where they state that while the cheesecake pictures of women were always more popular, as far back as the 1920s some actors were designated beefcake and photographed with their shirts off.

And then there were men who were photographed for the enjoyment of other men. Because I don't think teenage girls from my mother's generation hid these beauties in their high school lockers.

So maybe there have been two changes: the number of photographs of men intended primarily to glorify their beauty, and the audience for those photographs. Because up until Playgirl Magazine in the '70s and '80s, women weren't really allowed or expected to want to see such things.

And now we have Magic Mike...

Who knew Channing Tatum could dance like that?

I totally agree, Marlon. Totally.

So I'm not sure what I proved here today, other than that men have been handsome for at least as long as people have been able to photograph them. Ah well....I hope you enjoyed the view.

Happy Weekend!

Cover Reveal & #FridayFun!

Today's post has a little bit of everything. My friend Wren Michaels just got the cover art for her new novella, and it's SO cool! She was gracious enough to share it with me, and I must say it does justice to her story. I had the chance to read Unbearable a couple months ago, and loved it. So this is all about the win! Jump HERE to add Unbearable to your "want to read" shelf on Goodreads.

Blurb

Rose Red will stop at nothing to protect her sister, Snow White, from suffering the same fate as their mother. She vows to kill Hestor, the evil dwarf sorcerer responsible for her death. But a twist of fate lands her on the bottom of a riverbed, and her life in the hands of a mysterious stranger.

Marcus is a beast of a man. He is a bear by day, man by night, thanks to a curse from the evil Hestor. But when he rescues Rose from an icy grave, he unleashes the real animal. Falling for her is dangerous enough, as he must protect the secret of his curse. But she may just be the key to getting his kingdom back as she breaks one spell and puts him under another.

Bio

Wren Michaels hails from the frozen tundra of Wisconsin where beer and cheese are their own food groups. But then a cowboy swept her off her feet and carried her away below the Mason-Dixon line where she promptly lost all tolerance for snow and cold. They decided they’d make beautiful babies together and so they did. And they got it right on the first try. Now Wren lives happily ever after in the real world and in the worlds of her making, where she creates book boyfriends for the masses to crave.

My own work is going well. I'm following along my business plan, keeping up with three blog posts and about 4k words a week. My agent & I are prepping Aqua Follies to be released into the wild - or at least sent out on submission - and I have a cunning plan for the weekend involving my teenagers, my front garden, and a bunch of pruning tools.

Life could be a lot worse!

And, in honor of a certain football game that's going to be played on Sunday, I thought I'd throw this in so you can see where my loyalties lie. Go Seahawks!
