The Great M/M Romance Valentines Giveaway!

Happy Valentines Day!!

I'm blowing the dust off the blog because I'm excited about this event and want to share it everywhere. There are 20 M/M new stories by some exceptional m/m romance authors, and they're all FREE! So click on over to the main page, because it doesn't get much better than FREE!

Here ==> M/M Romance Valentines Giveaway

I won't divulge how many (many!) of them I downloaded, but the thing I like is there really is something for everyone in this mix. Irene and I wrote a novella that's set in the same world as our other Hours of the Night books, but it features new characters and might well be the start of a spin-off series. Here's the cover and blurb for Haunted...

Noel Chandler had a good reason for leaving the L.A.P.D. for New Orleans, but when he walks into a burned out Garden District mansion, he discovers there are some things he can’t outrun. The spooks can find him anywhere.

As the resident historian for the cable show Haunts and Hoaxes, Professor Adam Morales keeps an open mind about the supernatural. Or that’s what he tells himself, until he meets a man who puts that principle to the test. Noel’s smart, sexy, and has killer cop instincts. One glance from his bedroom eyes has Adam ready to believe anything.

But is Noel haunted, crazy, or just another hoax?

Haunted will be available on Amazon for $1.99 (+ KU if that's your jam) starting 2/19/18, so grab it now while it's FREE! Thanks very much! and Happy Valentines Day!

Here's some info about The Clockwork Monk...

Trevor Chalmers tells himself he only believes in fine suits, strong brandy, and muscular men.
He’s wrong.

BLURB

The Clockwork Monk is a mystery the President herself asks Trevor to solve. She wants it, and Trevor’s her spy. An encoded message leads him to the residence of the Archbishop of Chicago, where his undercover role allows him to indulge in fine waistcoats and fancy cravats. Even better, he enjoys the thrill of dodging both anarchists and propriety while engaging in a duel of secrets with the mysterious Father Stephen.
The good Father doesn’t act like a priest. Hell, Stephen may not be his real name. His broad shoulders and dark eyes are intriguing, and though Stephen’s clandestine agenda clashes with Trevor’s, danger just adds to the temptation. Between kisses, Stephen forces Trevor to admit his loyalty goes deeper than cheap excitement, turning a simple burglary into a test of his allegiance.

And since you stopped in, my writing partner Irene Preston and I are running a rafflecopter for a $10 gift card. Check it out!

The Forbidden Man by Elle Wright: Get You In The Mood

I'm so happy for my friend Elle! Her new book looks awesome, and I'm excited to share it with you. To get us all in the mood for the excerpt below, Elle came up with a list of her favorite songs to write love scenes to. Take a look and see if you agree...

And make sure you check out the giveaway down at the bottom of the post!

Top five 'get you in the mood' songs for writing love scenes to

I’m a huge fan of music, all styles: from classical to Hip Hop to R&B to Jazz. I even have some Country favorites. I actually have a specific playlist for love scenes. (LOL)  I call it the “Set the Mood” playlist. Here are my top 5 favorites.

1.     Feeling U, Feeling Me (Interlude) by Alicia Keys

2.     Are you Ready? by Boney James – One of my favorite saxophonists.

3.     Say it by Ne-Yo – The first line is “Close the door.” Enough said.

4.     I Want You by Marvin Gaye – I love Old School music and this is my favorite song by Marvin Gaye. I also adore the version by Kirk Whalum. Both are HOT.

5.     Inside My Love by Minnie Riperton – One of the most beautiful voices EVER!

“Are you still feeling cold?” he asked, adjusting the heater and finishing off the contents of his flask.

“Actually, I’m feeling pretty hot.” She jumped when he started coughing. “Are you okay?”

He wiped his mouth. “I’m straight.”

“You sure?” Syd studied his face as she smoothed her hand over his back.

“Yeah.” He closed the flask and tucked it back into his pocket. “It’s the liquor.”

“Huh?”

“The bourbon.” He patted his pocket. “It’s making you hot.”

“Somehow I doubt that,” she mumbled.

“What?” he asked, leaning in closer.

I doubt it’s the liquor. “Forget it. I’m cold again.” She burrowed into him.

“You want me to make you hot?” he asked.

Her eyes flashed to his and her lips parted.

“I meant . . .” He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat.

“Uh, I can turn the heat up.”

“No.” She forced a smile and lowered her gaze. “It’s fine.”

When his hand caressed her cheek, her eyes closed of their own volition. Time seemed to stand still. She felt his warm breath on her skin above her lips. “I think—”

She dug her nails into his knee. “Maybe you should call Kent again. See where he is.”

He slid his thumb down the side of her neck.

She exhaled. So this is what Terry McMillan meant when she waited to exhale?  “Because this isn’t going anywhere good. You’re acting like you want to kiss me and I know that’s not true,” she joked.

He clenched her hair in his hands and tugged gently.

“How do you know that?”

She searched his eyes. “Do you? I mean—do you want to?”

“I do—and so many other things.”

She let out a nervous giggle. “I think you’re feeling the effects of that gasoline you’re drinking, Morgan.”

His gaze dropped to her mouth as his hand crept up her thigh and rested on her hip. She jumped in surprise when he squeezed. “Actually, I don’t believe I’m drunk enough,” he said. “At this point, I know exactly what I’m doing, which means I’d be held responsible for my actions.”

Syd placed her hands on his stomach and felt his taut muscles tighten in response. “Den would kill you. So would Red.”

Morgan traced her lips with his thumb. “It may be worth it. Let me . . .” Then, his mouth was on hers, drawing a low moan from her mouth. The simple touch of his lips to hers set off a fire in Syd that seemed to burn brighter and hotter with every second.

She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck as he continued to assault her senses with his kisses. He slid his tongue across her bottom lip, demanding entrance, which she happily granted. She gripped a fistful of his hair as he pulled her onto his lap. He rocked into her, introducing her to his rock hard erection. She braced her other hand against the window as she grinded into him. He trailed hot, wet kisses down her throat and cupped her breasts in his hands. As his thumbs traced her nipples, she cried out and he captured her cry with his hot mouth.

Reluctantly, she tried to pull away, but he latched onto her bottom lip with his teeth and sucked. He obviously wasn’t ready for this to end . . . neither was she.

About the author:
Born and raised in Southeast Michigan near Ann Arbor, Elle learned the importance of reading from her mother. It was also her mother who, later on in her life, gave Elle her first romance nove: Indigo by Beverly Jenkins. From that moment on, Elle became a fan of Ms. Jenkins for life and a lover of all things romance. An old journal she wrote back in college became her first book (which she still wants to publish one day).

A Dom for Patti by Elodie Parkes

Here's lots of fun stuff from Elodie Parkes, including a giveaway at the bottom...

Blurb

An erotic romance, with Dom/sub and spanking elements—a contemporary, magical love story.

Background to the story

I wrote a story titled Rescuing Cade published by Evernight in February this year. In that story, Patti, the heroine from a Dom for Patti, is introduced to Cade. They are both visiting The Club, a select BDSM club. Cade is kind to Patti, but his heart already belongs to someone else and after only a few minutes he tells Patti he’s leaving. In that few minutes, he kisses Patti and she feels an instant attraction to him. Unfortunately, lonely Patti is destined not to be with Cade.

I liked Patti a lot and I decided to write her story. It’s an erotic romance with a twist. Patti is hoping for love as well as a handsome Dom to fill her lonely life, when she meets hunky Cameron in The Club, she thinks her luck is looking up … let’s hope so.

Interview with Cameron

1. If you were a dessert, what would you be?

Chocolate ice cream cake with a drizzle of coffee liqueur

2. What is it like being a personal trainer?

I enjoy seeing people achieve their goals and becoming happier with themselves. I travel with them sometimes, if they’re a movie star or model trying to get back into shape, and that can be fun.

3. What do you do when you need to blow off steam?

I own a fitness center with my brother so I work out and sometimes I’ll take off on a rock-climbing spree.

4. What do you look for in a woman?

Gentleness, intelligence, a sense of humor, sexiness, courage, beautiful eloquent eyes

5. What’s your favorite sex toy?

Mmm, let me think for a moment … okay well all kinds of vibrators and lubes are great because I can give my lady more pleasure

6. The blurb for A Dom for Patti mentions spanking, can we expect some in the story and do you enjoy spanking?

(Laughs) I’ve never been spanked per se, although Patti has dared to slap me on the ass as I pass naked, which I loved and had to kiss her loads to reassure her it was okay. I spank her because it makes her wet, but I don’t put my strength behind it. I do it for her to give her pleasure not to hurt. Frankly, I’d be devastated if I hurt her. I cherish her—she’s mine and we both know it, but that means I take care of her.

7. Tell us a little about Patti.

She works in fashion. She’s pretty, small, slender, and fits over my shoulder. (Smiles) She’s sexy, clever, interesting, luscious … let’s stop this before I start craving her kiss.

8. So, this is a love story?

It sure is. It’s hot, sexy, and there’s a journey, but it’s all worth it.

Excerpt

The darkness soothed Patti. The music lifted her spirits and she smiled at the lovely sight of people enjoying each other. She relaxed in the familiar atmosphere and began to wonder why she’d denied herself this pleasure for so long. Happy now, she wandered along to the bar and ordered coffee.

Patti spent a pleasant ten minutes drinking her coffee and talking with the bartender, before a man and woman she’d seen around The Club in the past arrived at the bar. Patti cast a sidelong glance at them before transferring her scrutiny to watching their touches and kisses through the length of mirror along the back of the bar. They were obviously a couple. More than that, they were obviously in love.

Patti left the sight that reminded her of what she desperately wanted and walked along to the end of the room. She stopped in the gloom there and considered going home. She’d shaken her depression and maybe on her next visit she’d find one of the Masters free.

About to move off, instead, Patti turned abruptly. Someone approached from behind and she was suddenly aware she lurked around in the entrance to the corridor that led to the private rooms.
He was closer than she’d anticipated. A hard muscular chest met her, and as she bumped against the man, his arms enclosed her.

Patti looked up into the face of a man she’d never seen before.

His eyes were dark in the gloom. He’d stopped further into the shadows, but the handsome planes of his face were still obvious. A dimple appeared in his left cheek as he smiled.

“Hey, are you okay? I didn’t mean to scare you.” He left his arms around her.

Patti soaked up the contact. She looked at him with interest. “I was deep in thought.”

Valentine's #Giveaway with @Crimson_Romance

The month of February is a fun one for Crimson Romance, because they always give so much stuff away. This year, their grand prize is a Kindle Fire and a bunch of their bestselling books. Entering is as easy as signing up for the Crimson newsletter, so jump HERE for a chance to win. They've also dropped the price on all their books published before 2015, and over 400 books have been reduced to $1.99 - or $0.77 for the 8-book bundles. That's a screamin' deal, so jump HERE to see what's what.

My paranormal romance Forever & Ever, Amen is one of the books priced at $1.99. I love this story because it's about grown-ups dealing with adult issues. More accurately, it's about a forty-some woman and an angel dealing with the problems created by a demon and a couple of teenagers.

Because sometimes there's not all that much difference between a demon and a teenager.

Molly's great. She's not perfect, but she's resilient, and she loves her kids more than anything. Cass wears his heart on his sleeve, and even though he's spent eternity observing human behavior, he can't help falling for her spirit and sense of humor. Check out the blurb & excerpt, and if you're intrigued, there's a link down at the bottom to the book's page on Amazon. Thanks so much, and Happy Valentine's Day...

Molly, a forty-something single mom, tangles with the wrong guy and gets a hell of a hickey. That blotch is really a demon’s mark, and she’ll have to face the three things that scare her most to get rid of it.

First, Molly loses her job and then she has a near-sex experience with her philandering, not-quite-ex-husband. Worst of all, she has to sit by a hospital bed, wondering if her son is ever going to wake up.

The Powers That Be assign Cass to help her. He’s an angel who’s trying to earn a seat in the celestial choir by helping out a human in need. Vanquishing the demon would be his ticket up, but only if he plays by the rules. He’ll never earn his wings if he loses his heart to the lovely Molly. But she has even bigger things to worry about. She stands to lose her soul.

Molly ran her hands through her hair in frustration. “So far he’s cost me my job and nearly dumped me into bed with Ford. I do not want to live through whatever the third trial is.”

“You don’t mean that.” Cass moved closer to her, nearly close enough to touch. He took a deep breath and reached out towards her.

She automatically reached toward him, her fingers brushing through cool air where she saw his hand. Shit.

His expression was as sad as she’d ever seen it. “Look under your pillow.”

            “What?”

            “Your pillow.”

“Why? Are you the tooth fairy now?”

Cass chuckled, sounding more like himself. “Just trust me.”

The rich earthy smell of the forest got stronger. Molly raised an eyebrow and ran her hand under the closest pillow. Her fingers brushed against something cool and round. She pulled it out. It was a gold ring about a quarter inch thick and carved with a delicate vine and leaf pattern. “Wow,” Molly whispered. “It’s beautiful.”

            “Put it on.”

She did. It fit the ring finger of her right hand. She held her hand out, watching the way the light made the ring glow, just like Cass’s earring did.

“Now sugar, this isn’t just an ordinary ring,” he said. “It’s sidhe gold, and while its magic won’t last forever, it’ll hold off Zepar’s last trial until you’ve had time to get your feet on the ground a little bit.”

“I thought the rules said you could only talk and listen.”

Cass shut his eyes and pressed an index finger to his closed lips.

“Okay then,” Molly said. “I won’t tell if you won’t. I don’t have enough friends that I can afford to piss one of them off.”

“We’re friends?” Cass sounded tentative, and Molly could feel him watching for her response.

            “I hope so.” She smiled.

            “Good.”

“I do appreciate what you’re doing. You’ve been really…I don’t know how I’d be handling all this if I didn’t have you to help me work things through.”

            “Just listening and talking, right?”

“Yeah, and keeping my daughter’s boyfriend in line and making me laugh.”

“It’s always easy to help a pretty girl.”

“You know, if I ever get married again, it would have to be with someone like you.” Surprise made Molly blush to the roots. She didn’t know where the idea had come from but knew to her bones that it was true. “I’m sorry, that was…”

“You might want to find someone a little more substantial.”  Cass smiled, but he was blushing, too.

“Yeah.”  Their glances met and held. Molly looked away first.

“You sleep good tonight, Molly.” Cass bowed and disappeared.
