On the other hand, you have to hear a disappointing song again and again and again...so there's that...
;)Liv Rancourthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13171029958375171223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9152710377778718003.post-60998956189089481472015-02-04T10:00:12.617-08:002015-02-04T10:00:12.617-08:00I'm pretty ambivalent in regards to sports, so...I'm pretty ambivalent in regards to sports, so I suppose I've never had such a moment. However, in the days of my youth, I'd always be disappointed when a favorite band would water down their sound in the hopes of greater commercial appeal. Although, the experiences probably aren't that similar ;)Mike Schulenberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07150989011176710430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9152710377778718003.post-61215132926432131652015-02-03T07:46:39.393-08:002015-02-03T07:46:39.393-08:00OMG Amanda, you're bringing up some bad memori...OMG Amanda, you're bringing up some bad memories here. I believe I was watching both basketball games you mention, and they were amazingly awful. I don't feel the same way about the '95 Mariners, because they'd already exceeded my expectations by so much...and because if they'd kept winning, I was gonna have to set up a big-screen TV in the middle of my wedding reception.
;)Liv Rancourthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13171029958375171223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9152710377778718003.post-33448790701426317332015-02-03T07:35:00.365-08:002015-02-03T07:35:00.365-08:00I don't know that I've ever had a Mutumbo ...I don't know that I've ever had a Mutumbo Moment (I was playing a softball game during that playoff series, BTW, and one of the parents in the stands was keeping us updated with the score). I've seen a couple of other people's, though. The one I remember the most vividly was Chris Webber, then-forward of the Michigan Wolverines, calling a time out the team didn't have in the Final Four. THE FINAL FOUR. That technical cost them the game. Or the look on Adam Morrison's face when the Zags lost to UCLA in the Sweet 16. Honestly? That was probably the most heartbreaking one of all. Google it. You'll feel for him.

Or what about the '95 Mariners? Their miracle season ending with a loss to the Indians...the year after the Sonics lost to the Nuggets.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9152710377778718003.post-636754268045167112015-02-03T06:17:31.718-08:002015-02-03T06:17:31.718-08:00I think I mighta started throwing stuff at the tel...I think I mighta started throwing stuff at the television if I'd been watching that game. They were in position to pull off a major upset, but they self-destructed in a span of 52 seconds in the fourth quarter -- a small window into the core of their problems. Inexplicably, Geno Smith took a third-down sack, followed by a Ryan-Marty Mornhinweg disagreement on the sideline, followed by a wasted timeout, followed by a partially blocked field-goal attempt from 52 yards.

We've had too many many Mutombo Moment's to count :)
Debbie Christianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12949473453277720476noreply@blogger.com
